The Calgary Out West Basketball Association sponsors and manages one of the most successful women's basketball development program in Canada. The spring and summer Out West program is based in Calgary, Alberta, which has become a hotbed of Canadian women's basketball over the past several years. Calgary is home to more basketball clubs per capita than any other major Canadian city.

The Out West program offers development opportunities to young women from 15 to 21 years of age. The teams participate in tournaments throughout Western Canada and by the end of this summer will have participated in international competitions in the U.S., Australia and Cuba.

Out West players have gone on to play on NCAA, Canadian university and college teams, and in the Canadian National Program.

Out West coaches are experienced and highly qualified. They have backgrounds in international competition as members of the Canadian National Team and in U.S. professional organizations. Out West is managed by business people, including those with experience in sports management and marketing.
